My African journey began many years ago when my family bought a piece of land in South Africa to return to the wild. All fences were removed, alien vegetation cleared and indigenous creatures returned to their natural habitat. Soon zebra and impala were grazing on the plains again, elephants wallowed in the rivers and warthogs were foraging in the undergrowth.  A lodge was built and for many years it was a family home where we re-connected with Mother Nature and learned from her wisdom.

 

They say that Africa gets under your skin; something about the early morning safaris into the wilderness, the breathtaking sunsets, the fireside chatter and the call of the hyena through the night, stays with you long after you return home. As Karen Blixen once wrote, “You know you are truly alive when you are living among lions”. Since then I have travelled extensively in southern Africa and tasted her riches. I have been fortunate to explore magical destinations and stay in many beautiful places, from rustic tented camps to 5 star lodges.

 

Green Pangolin Safaris was born out of my love for the African bush. I now draw on my passion and wealth of personal experience to help others make their own dreams of Africa become a reality.
